Skills Ontario
Skills Ontario is deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the skilled trades and technology sectors. Beyond advocacy, they invest in workforce development initiatives prioritizing equity-deserving groups, including women, Indigenous communities, newcomers, racialized youth, and persons with disabilities. Through inclusive programming and outreach—such as the Young Women’s Initiatives, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit-focused programs, and Black Youth in Skilled Trades events—Skills Ontario ensures underrepresented youth see a future in the trades. A standout example is the Umoja Series, which supports Black youth through storytelling, mentorship, and real-world exposure to skilled trades.
