Ticha Albino
As Human Rights Representative and lead instructor of the IBEW 353 Pathways Program, Ticha has championed access to the trades for Indigenous, racialized, and newcomer women. Since April 2022, 169 participants, including 150 women, have enrolled. Of these, 136 completed 15 weeks of training, 57 began job placements, 49 were sponsored as apprentices, and 42 are now in their first term, showing strong results in workforce integration. Ticha also created the Bystander Intervention Train the Trainer program with Hamilton Interval House, launching May 22. This sector first initiative improves psychological safety. Her work with the Canadian Labour Congress and IBEW Minority Caucus continues to shape national labour equity strategies and policy.
